Brait SA has been ranked in 18^th place in the Financial Mail’s Top 200 Companies in 2009. This means Brait is on the FM’s elite list of Top 20 winners, a considerable achievement.

The Financial Mail noted that Brait’s total dividend was up by 19% although its recurring earnings for the year to March were down 34%, largely due to the global crisis in the financial markets.

The Group was awarded a score of 58. Criteria included track record over five years; corporate governance culture; black empowerment status;  prospects for growth and whether the share “is reasonably liquid and offers value the herd may have missed”.
